Alright,

Been a very rough day. One thing after another. Well after running all day long doing service calls -- Computer work

I stopped to a customers house to hear a "hisssss" Come to find out I punctured my Front Left tire -- I had a small roof nail stuck -- Thought it was fine. However it was not, and it did go all the way through.

Well, Upon changing the tire with my spare in trunk. The tire is SHOT. Its wore really bad on the inside. all other tires are fine. Luckily its under warrenty. In the morning Im getting it replaced -- For now

Upon removing tire, my threads are stripped. so i went to local advanced auto and picked up the Chrysler sebring lug nuts -- threads fit and they go all the way on.

Moreover,

I take the car to the local Tires Plus to have alignment checked.. I was right there with them under the lift looking. Here is what we found / They found upon inspection.

RF upper control arm
RF Lower ball joint
LF Lower ball joint
RF outer tie rod
LF Outer tie rod

Now there was play in the tires, they wiggled about maybe half inch both ways.. Would that be the tie rods or ball joins?

On top of this, I noticed my back rear pads are SHOT -- Almost NOTHING left.. So tonight im ordering the Rotor Pro's brake package.

Mind you. I just placed all 8 plugs and coils

Opinions.. And what should I do here.

WOW, tough luck for you!, heres what I would do. I have replaced all of these items on my 02.

The wobble could be from all of these issues. Mostly the tie rod ends. From what Ive experienced, bad outter tie rod ends causes the car to vear to either side when driving strait. loose upper control arms causes a shakey feeling in the steering wheel.

Replace the lower ball joints first. You can buy the ball joints on ebay and have them pressed in at a shop. Next, do BOTH upper control arms. You can find them at directford parts.com for about $85 each. Then finally do the outter tie rod ends. After you do the outter tie rods you will need an alignment. I had the outter tie rod ends done at a shop with alignment for 175 i think last year.

Im suprized you dont feel these problems while your driving?

Hi there,

Ive had a well noticeable shake in the steering wheel while crusing the highway, under 75mph it shakes a little but i just assumed it was the road and highway. and have basically gotten use to it. however, while driving other cars the shake is not there. so knew it was something.

I asked the tire place if i buy the ball joins they will press the old ones out, and they said yes. so thats a plus.

I dont know how I will be able to do the control arms myself, Have the tools but no lift =/

Any tutorials floating around upon how to replace them? Or is a lift not needed.

can you take a look at these for me? Are these the ones you used to replace ball joints with. I believe I recall a post you made awhile back with you having to replace both sides.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2000...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

Also per "TeamFordParts"

Upper control arm, ls6, ls8, right
Includes: Bushings and Ball Joint

yep $85 a pop. Not TOO Bad.

I was thinking It was going to cost more to get this all fixed, along lines of $800 -- Hopefully will be able to do it all myself eh.

You can do the control arms yourself. It just is kinda hard to reach the bolts inside the engine bay. You don't need a lift. I did it in my drivaeway with one jack. Not sure about a tutorial though.

Thanks guy, It'll be the same for me ;) Driveway and the central florida heat. wooho =/

Look above to previous post. Are those the same ball joints you used

Those are them! and with the outter tie rod ends. I couldnt find them anywhere for the LS. I think the guy at the shop said they were ordered for a different car and thats why the were cheap. Like a taures? or something? thunderbird...i dunno. just check into because everwhere I checked want crazy money for the inner and outter tie rod. you only need the outter.

Thanks guy,

I believe I have found what I need for now. even found the tie rod ends on teamfordparts. $40 a peice. -- not bad

Today got new tires... Discount tires replaced the one tire which had a nail, And then realized and notice the 3 other tires were worn down to wear bars already. Have had them for about 11 months, and 20K miles roughly..

so add 3 new tires to the list. The tires had and are back on the car again are the Falcon 512's 235/45/17's
