Hi guys, first post here. Did the good olé google but I couldn't just figure out how to word a search just right to get some good info.
I also know the LS can be known for electrical problems so while doing my search I came across this site and figured it would help to just ask some of you guys.
OK, my LS is a 2000 V8. I didn't use it much over the winter but I had started it up and let it run for a half hour or so. All of sudden I went out to start 'er up and I had no power. Well I had some but it was dim then when I turned the key I could hear a clicking under the hood but it was not cranking at all just a tick form the right side and a faster click I think from the left side.
I hooked up cables to give it a jump and I got more power but still nothing but a ticking noise and the needles were acting very funny. They were going from the left to the right about 2 or 3 times then they staled out in the middle of the gauge.
I had a bad relay before but it was visibly damaged, it actually had a hole blown into it. Now they all visually appear to be in working order. I gave it a shot again today and this time it does seem as if the battery could have a problem. I get no sparks if I tap the cables together and I get no response from any instruments inside, no lights when I press the key fob buttons, no horn, no nothing.
How can I tell if a relay is bad? I am going to pull the battery out today and give it a test but we have so many relays in the trunk and under the hood how do I know or actually how do I tell if one is shot so I know what one to replace if the battery is good?
Thanks for every one that gives a bit of help
