backlash?

so im having my brother put 4.10 gears with trac lok in my car and the book i have with all the specs in it list 2 different 8.8 rears that have all the same specs except for the backlash this is what it has

8.8(old 5 cut) .011-.016
8.8(new 2 cut) .003-.006

for those of you that have done gear installs what did you set the backlash as and which one of these should we go by?

I did my 4.10's last summer and I used the FSM's specs which are:

0.008-0.013

I think I got 0.011-0.012 I don't remember but I daily drive mine with no problems.

i was a little on the tight side i believe. .007 or so.
specs are .008 to .012 or so.
also daily driven with no problems.

What brand gears are you installing?

With FRPP gears, I aim for .010.
