I've been searching for info on axle code trying to figure out what's in the 2000 TC. I find lots of info for various Ford cars and trucks, but not what I need. The door plate lists the axle code as "JY" but I cannot find a direct reference for this combo.

There is a reference to a 3.08C JY in a posting for the sale of an axle assembly. Any clue as to what the JY designation is?

When it warms up, I'll get under the car and see what the differential tag says.

    TIA

Took some digging, but finally found this site:

For 98+ Town Cars, JY is indeed a 3.08 conventional, as is MY. The 9E is a 3.27 TL, and 55 is a 3.55 conventional.
