Avic F90BT Upgrade - Need The Laundry List

Lea - thanks. If you don't mind send me anything you've got that will help. Do you have the premium set of speakers (6x9 subs) and did you just hook up the factory or upgrade to amps/aftermarket speakers?

I don't have the premium setup. I upgraded my door speakers to Infinity 6x8 Kappas with an Alpine amp. I had an 12 sub but got rid of it. Thinking about getting another one but might go with an 10" this time.

Go to www.avic411.com and search for bypass for F series. Everything you need to know or want to know is on that site.

The hunt is over - snared an F90BT last night.

The thing is, I ended up doing the cardinal sin (i.e. buying off of Ebay/non-authorized dealer). I definitely did weigh things out, and I do realize that I'm taking a risk/gamble here. Part of me is heavily banking on the fact that none of you existing F90BT owners have had to send in for repair. All of the aftermarket radios I've had in the past never had any repair issues, so I'm hoping the gamble will pay off in my favor.

The auction I won was for a brand-new unit that has the 2.0 updates on it. I'm pretty sure that getting the 3.0 update for free is not possible, and I'm not too thrilled to drop another 60 - 80 (whatever it is) to get it. I'm thinking about going the 3.0 <cough, cough> "evaluation route" from avic411.com, but have heard the X update is not as good as the legit F update.

The auction also advertised a 2 year sonicelectronix.com warranty on this, so I'll be curious to see what (if anything) that turns out to be. If it's nothing, then there's some false advertising involved, and I suppose I could pursue that if I wanted even more headache. I'm somewhat assuming I'm in no-man's land for the warranty, but I opted to get the unit at a MUCH lower price than what authorized dealers are selling it for.

Time for me to start getting snuggly with avic411.com.

I saw there was a D3 install thread, but I'm wondering if there are enough of us F90 owners out there to create a dedicated install thread for it. I know most of you guys have already posted stuff in other threads, but it might be easier to get it all in one spot.
