Currently doing a Jmod on my '94 M8. I figured since I've got the tranny fluid drained, I might as well put in an auxillary trans cooler. I'd like to see what other fellow Mark VIII owners have done. My one concern is: Does it matter which hose to attach from the radiator?
I got the Hayden Rapid-Cool 679 plate and fin type trans cooler. The installation instruction shows several ways to install it on a typical car. It shows horizontal or vertical mounting. It also shows both in and out tubes oriented from either the top or from the bottom, including bypassing the radiator and using the 679 as the primary cooler. I have read that some had theirs piggybacked with the factory trans cooler.
I know YMMV but; What works best for street driven Mark?
I've had shudder issues on my green Mark but tranny fluid replacement seemed to have fixed it for a couple years only to come back again. It may be overheating especially on hot summer days. I'm hoping to prevent anymore issues by installing one of these. I don't race this Mark but I do alot of long distance tand hilly and mountainous driving on it.
I'll post a few questions about drilling Jmod separator plate hole sizes in a different thread. Thanks everyone!
