Got an '03 LSV8 and that "feature" hasn't worked right from day one. On exiting the vehicle, it works as it should to pull the steering wheel in and move the seat all the way back. Regaining the prefered seating position when the key is inserted is the problem. It never goes back to the same position twice. I've programed the position a hundred times, but almost every time I get in the car I have to manually adjust the wheel and seat to where I want it. As I say...almost every time...so ya know if I ever brought it in to have that one problem checked out, that would be the time it works right, so I never bothered. It's just one of those LS annoyances I've learned to live with and wanted to know if anybody else is having the same problem?...Yeah, I know I can turn it off altogether, it just doesn't seem right that I should have to resort to that instead of expecting it to work right.

I've known people who have this problem with the mirrors not quite returning to their proper settings, but I haven't heard complaints about the seat and wheel.

Are you using the same key and remote every time? The settings are tied to the keys and remotes--you might try setting everything, then asssigning it to both memory settings.

I have this same problem with my '02 LS. I have programmed the seat patterns for seat 1. 90% of the time when I turn the car on the memory doesn't move the seat or wheel to the position. If I push the driver 1 button it goes to where I want it though. I am not making any changes after turning driver 1 on, so its not that I'm turning it off or anything.

Its funny this comes up, I thought I was imagining things. Mines alittle inconsistent, but not so annoying.

Same key, same remote. Even if I hit the button on the door, hoping that it will remember where the seat and wheel are supposed to go, they move some of the way but I always have to finish the job myself.

I'm also having that problem, but if I use the seat memory buttons it is ok. I'd have it looked at but it is most likely way more expensive to fix than it's worth. Just another reason I seriously considering the 300m srt8.

got mine fixed

I have 02 and all my friends thinks this feature is so cool.
but anyway, mine stopped working 6 months ago. It's just like yours. My steering wheel still works as it should but the seat itself did not adjust.
But I could live without it working so I didnt care that much.
but when winter came, I realized that my heated seat didnt work.
so I took it to dealer to get that fixed. I also mentioned to them that my memory seat doesnt work and if they could take a look while they are fixing the heated seats (maybe for wire that came loose, which would be easy fix).
It turns out that heating element failed ($150) and seat track assmebly was broken ($500). ALL were covered under warranty.
so If you have warranty, you should go check to see if yours will cover you.

good luck.

Thanx man I keep forgetting that whole warranty thing..other cars are 72' chevelle and 94'Talon TSi.. I'm not used to other people turning wrenchs for me:rolleyes: Gonna take it in next week i guess
