So it used to be when i got in my car and put in the key my seat position and everything would automatically load up and it would go way back when i took it out. short story - it doesn't do it anymore. its a minor annoyance to have to push 1 while in park everytime (at which point everything sets up fine) but i didn't know if there was some setting i might have disabled or something. any ideas?

really? on the 2000? i don't what'd it'd be under... i'll give a look later today... hmmm do you know what the option is?

the wheel moves in and out but the seat doesn't always join in the effort. when i hit the #1 for the settings everything moves correctly.

In that case, it's not a problem with the electronics module, or with the settings. It's an issue with the seat position sensor. My 2004 used to do this, both the seat and the mirrors. I intended to try adding some filter capacitors to the sensor lines and/or cleaning the position sensors. Before I ever got around to it, it just seemed to cure itself. Part of the trick seemed to be to move the seat/mirrors all the way several times. (example: Move the seat as far forward as it goes, then as far backward as it goes, and repeat many times.)
I suspect (but don't know) that may clean up the sensors a little bit.

hahah... yer talkin jibberish. :) sorry i just don't follow all that  :D , but i'll try cleaning the sensors if you could perchance walk me through where to start on that and i'll do the whole move back and forth thing tonight.

Go to http://deneau.info/ls/
Select "S"
Select "Seat Position Sensor"
That will show you where to find it.
I assume that zero-residue cleaner would be a good thing to try on it. Make sure you don't remove any grease from nearby moving parts with the cleaner. If you do, re-grease it.

(It's just my guess that this might help, I never got around to trying it myself.)
