do the headlights in the automatic position turn on in the rain while the windshield wipers are in the automatic position?

not sure if lincoln put 2 and 2 together but i would expect the headlights to turn on if the wipers turn on.

Not sure what you mean by "wipers in the automatic position". Do you mean the moisture-sensitive system is activated?

My 06 works this way: When you turn on the wipers, the lights come on after a few seconds. However, my 06 doesn't have the moisture-sensitive wiper system. I do not know if you have the moisture sensitive system activated, and water lands on the windshield, whether the wipers wipe AND the lights come on. My 03 had the MS system, and I don't think it worked that way.

i have an 02 v6 and mine don't. On some days when its not dark enough i have to turn the switch over.

My '03 V6 automatically turns on the light if the wipers come on for more than like 20s. I think its a capacitor based system off of the wiper motor power supply so they didn't have to mess with knowing what position the wiper switch was in for the mist or washer triggering the system. I like it enough I'm thinking about reverse engineering it to work on my '64 Riviera to turn the lights on when the wipers are armed.
