August 13th Chicago Area Blowout

I want to test the waters here a little -

I have been talking with Jibit and Mespock about doing a meet similar to what we did in NJ last month.

How does this sound?

August 13th -

Noon - 5:00pm BBQ and Picnic at a reserved forest preserve picnic area. We would have our own reserved parking and picnic area, a reserved shelter, etc. There is fishing there too.

At 5:00 we would cruise about 2 miles into Downtown Lombard for their Cruise night. They have a live band, food and a ton of heavily modified cars.

(This is located about 1 mile from North Ave and I-294)

I have talked with the Chicago area Classic Cadillac Club and they are interested in joining us - so we can expect to have 10-15 classic caddies around as well.

For out of town people I would help arrange hotel accomidations.

I would want this to be a blowout, Bigger then NJ.

How many are on board???? Im tossing this out 2 months early so people have a chance to plan, and I can get necessary reservations in place.

what forest preserve? busse woods? what town?
where in lombard? this is my hood, of course i'll be there! bout time you do something close! im in hoffman/schaumburg. :Beer
 
Technically the preserve is in addison - its called cricket creek - we'll have a reservered area with a special use permit.

That's the only place we've done things except the Auto Show!

And you guys in Chicago need to get your courage up and do a little traveling!

Or can't your cars drive that far LOL!
 
Hey Hey now - Jibit and I flew to NJ for a meet! We went plenty far!
 
Hell yes Ill be there Ill be geting back from AZ then I will get to miss more work!!! Hell YA!!!!!!
 
Lets see if we can get some of the more distant members of the Midwest to show!

I live 3 hrs from Chi Town so Come on people! Lets do it.

I'll be making the run to Chicago 3 time that month. First on the 9th to take my daughter to the airport, 13th for the meet, 24th to pick my daughter back up!

So a 3 hr drive is not that bad! Come on Midwest lets have some fun!
 
Yes - everyone from Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Iowa, and everyhere else -- Lets make this a blow out!!!

I wish it was on a sunday so I could attend, but maybe I will stop by around 8:30 PM for the car show. :(
 
if i have a car and the money im in, but the biggest problem is i dont have a car at the moment
 
At this time I may be in if you hold to that date. I'm not working for a change. :I
 
How far is it from New Haven, MI to Chicago? We're doing the Krasl Concours on the Bluff on the 13th.
