Are the 98 trannys affected by the 1-2 spring issue as well?

just wondering it this was for 93-97 or were the 98s transmission affected by this as well. there is a write up on replacing the springs for the 1-2 shift issue. did the 98 trans resolve this issue?

The 98's should be A ok... upgraded everything.

Yes and no. I have heard of them going in 98 but form what I have read they are suppose to be better.

If your shifts to 2nd are hard, spring is broke.

98's had the upgraded "piston" the springs were basicly the same except the tension levels.

the 98's do have a softer shifting spring tho

Max @ Fivestar sells the "better spring" that is from a Town Car I believe that firms up the 1-2 shift
