That's ridiculous. I definitely would have told him flat out that if their techs are competent, then they have nothing to fear from LVC members.

I'm really not to concerned what ford has for "protection".
I still get recall notices for my 84 mustang that I haven't owned since 93.

I'd much rather put the part on myself, rather than having one of those techs you describe get their hammers and screwdrivers close to my car.
in fact.. in my case.. not even a screw driver is required for the install.

IF you have time and are so inclined, can you post the Part Number for that harness? I have a 98 Mark 8.
 
Max, I was thinking that ford would have to sell the part..
What happens to a car that has damage from accident or fire where that part is located.
Shouldn't it be also available for "repair" work, aside from warranty work.

I may be "way off base" but it seems they would have to "stock the item" for ordinary non warranty repairs as well..correct.. or have I not waken up yet this morning. (lol)

i agree these cars are old and fewer and fewer on the road, so the over all knowledge about the car is fading. its all in what the tech knows, trust me ive seen some of those idiots, ive even fired some in a few hours. they fumble into the job all gung-ho then they look like a idiot and feel stupid when they ask "i dont know what to do"
all fn-10 and mn-12's that come into work come to me, i know all the little quirks on them but they rarely come in any more. poeple sell them and get something else (stupid)

You should see how retarded ford parts guys are... We had one of our guys reading "I am sofa king we todd did" 3 times out loud.... still had no clue.
