anyone run these tires??

They are General Altimax HP
I was thinking of buying them, they have decent reviews, look really good and the best part is they are very cheap. I am currently running the Firehawk LH on my car and they blow nuts. IM thinking 245/45/17. What do you guys think??

the noise seems normal you could say quite, i run 235 50 R17 96W which means they're good for a top speed of 186mph

Ahem, there's a reason the Pirelli might be justifiable to run with a rate of wear that is not particularly high. They are awesome performers. The, ahem, generals cannot make a claim to superior performance or to high build quality. Bragging rights aside, Pirelli's have a comfort margin in performance you can count on.

Pirelli won't brag a lot about high mileage, but the rest is their domain, it's what they do and what over 200 of their tires have done for me over the years. Others might hold a candle to them in performance in some areas but many cannot and general is certainly one of the many. When if comes to build quality, None of them are superior to the Italian brand.
