Anyone hear of a site called Case Studies?

That guy definitely does he research. But all he had to do was search through a few Ford TSBs to find that one out. Very common issue on the 03+ V8s is a bad coil causing interference with the PCM, and setting multiple DTCs for the Throttle body or other components.

In some cases though, part of the throttle body could be bad (or all of it). I don't know which part exactly went bad on my '03, but it was overheating big time. It would run OK for a while, but once it got too high bam ETC failure. It seemed to happen more often when I stepped on it harder.

Of course it would, running the engine harder creates more heat. Overheating really has nothing to do with the throttle body though.

No, the computer part of the throttlebody was actually overheating, and when it did it was causing bad communication from the computer to the throttle, resulting in ETC failures. The actual part of the throttlebody that was bad was super hot to the touch. I'm not talking about gunning the engine for long periods either, I'm talking about stepping on it from a light, or to get on the freeway.

The engine was not overheating in anyway whatsoever.
