whats an alignment check? I'm sure you got an alignment after you put the eibachs on right? what did you do a month before? have an alignment check?

ugh...I had my alignment adjusted...you know when you get new tires.......they do an alignment.....I didn't need it when I put the Eibachs on...

but like everyone else here has said..I'm "performance illiterate" just buy the damn things and get a shop to do it professionally.... haha

LMAO!!! Don't listen to this guy! ^ ^ ^ ^

$800 for springs + install? Ouch! If you've done engine swaps, you can do a suspension swap. Just make sure you have all of the necessary tools, a few free hours, a buddy if needed, and some beer. :D Other than the springs, an allignment is the only thing you should pay for. $500 to install some $300 springs.... LOL!!!

:bowrofl:

You just ruined his day.

Dude do it yourself, do a search. I know there is a few articles put up on how to do it. All you need is a few tools and a spring compressor all of which could be loaned out by most parts shop today.

Pete PLEASE tell me you didnt really pay 800 dollars for springs and install...

Good god.

ANYWAYS... You should get an alignment AFTER you put the springs on... Considering lowering the car will change the camber ever so slightly, and you don't want to have toe issues. Your tires will wear unevenly and cost you money in the long run. Having an alignment before you lower your car does absolutely no good once you change the position of the wheels...

To install springs takes a few hours if you've never done it before, a set of spring compressors that you can rent at a parts store, a way to get the car off the ground, and a set of wrenches. It's REALLY not difficult. DO NOT pay 500 bucks to get it installed. Like Mark said, it's NOT THAT HARD, grab a friend, some drinks, and go to town. If you DO want to pay to have them installed... 100-200 would be a reasonable wage given the shops hourly rate.

Awesome, thanks for the advice. I am going to buy them off of ebay tonight I guess. The shop quoted me 250 for the install and alignment. Which sounds tempting to save me a few hours of my day.Do the str wheels look weird without the car lowered? And I really don't want to have uneven wear. How bad is it?

More than likely you end up staying within spec. IMO (as well as others) you dont always need the alignment done but at least get the test done and decide from that point on. If it is out of spec, get it done!
One more thing, toe is the killer of tires more than camber. Unless camber is way off it wont do as bad of a job as some people think. When you lower a car your camber goes out of spec not so much the toe.

the rear is going to be the issue. The inside edge of the tires will wear faster than the rest. Rear toe not adjustable. YOu'll learn to live with it. got 28k miles out of my set.

it was 500 for the eibach pro performance kit and 300 for the install..that's better than the 1100+ i was getting from everyone else...costs an arm and a leg to get :q:q:q:q done from shops.....

Yeah I know...hell I coulda got them from LS Koncepts but ALL shops around here must buy through manufacture to guarentee the warrenty...if I got them off ebay or lskoncepts and have them install it they would VOID the warrenty....same goes for ANY Angel Eyes......damn shops around here are homo!
