Hello all ! Well seems I've been driving my '02 745i for too long and I can't remember the last time it ever broke down.

I purchased a 2000 LS V8 blk/blk with 117,000 for $1,500 !! :) Well originally I was told it had a rod knock but when I test drove it (yes they let me test drive it supposedly with a rod knock ) it didn't sound like it at all. Dealer didn't know oh well I wanted a project but not mad I didn't get to tear the engine apart.

Well I've owned this car since Oct 7th and I have replaced the following.

Secondary Timing Tensioner (pass side)
Oil/Filter
4 New COP (4 more on order)
Fuel Filter
Cleaned out all the trash by radiator.

Now I'm in the process of installing a push style fan in front to help relieve the temp since my hydralic fan spins on retard mode. Going to dealer to order the actuator.

Have 2 New Window Regulators to install. Thermostat & Overflow cap (no visible leaks or coolant odors)

Anything else that might come to mind? btw car runs great !:D

I just bought mine in March of this year. You got a good deal! I paid $5,500 for a 2002 with 101,000 miles and have put $9000 into it after that (mainly on repairs)!

Here are some helpful threads.

If you have stock wheels replace the stock lug nuts with Dorman #611-117 or Chrysler Sebring/Mitsubishi #MB579290 and get a new wrench (before you get a flat tire).

Check: Rear Toe Links/Front & Rear Stabilizer Bars and Sway Bar bushings for tears etc, if over heating check degas bottle, make sure A/C & Heater work (DCCV), replace spark plugs when replacing COP's, brake pads/rotors, air filter, clean MAF sensor, cabin filter, check headliner at rear window for sag, check rear window brake light cover & gasket position, battery voltage, engine idlers & tensioner for squeals, tires/alignment, check play in wheels when jacked up off floor (hub bearings/ball joints), air pressure in spare tire, wiper blades/washer fuild, check brake & transmission fluid, look at all suspension component bushings.

(After looking at your pictures, hose out the engine compartment if you haven't already).

You might want to get some new low beam headlight bulbs:
