Need new tires for my 05 LS. Currently has the OEM Michelin 235/50/17. Local store has a good price on Falken 912 but also suggested Pirelli Zero Nero on which he had a killer deal however the size is 235/55/17. Is that size difference going to give any issues and does anybody have experience with these tires. I have a set of snows for when the weather turns really bad.
Thanks.

The 235/55/17 size is has a taller sidewall, so your speedo will read low (eg, you could be doing 57 when the speedo says 55, etc); there are calculators out there which should be able to tell you how far off your speedo will be. As long as all four tires are the same size, none of the other systems in the car will care.

I haven't run either of those tires. I have run Avon Tech M550 A/S, Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position, Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus tires (currently the Michelins), and I can recommend either the Bridgestones or the Michelins without hesitation. I think the Tire Rack rankings on them are spot on--the Michelins are #1 and the Bridgestones are #2.

as long as they are the same size on the same axle the car wont care have 275/40/17 rear 245/45/17 front however that extra 5 can make it visually look diff so keep that in mind and bridgestone firestone lol

Thanks for the responses. My biggest concern is whether I would compromise the handling with the higher aspect ratio.
