After having some rather erratic problems with my car OVER COOLING, a hose decides to rupture which leaves me having to refill coolant (using water at the moment) every 1/2 mile. Yes this did turn into a overheating problem. The hose I'm looking for specifically looks like its running from underneath the intake manifold and into what i think is the water pump (across from the thermostat housing.)

In other news, I replaced the thermostat the other day and still I'm getting an overcool condition when the fan kicks on. It's good for the summer but it bothers me a bit.

00' v6.

If you have a V6 it's the upper coolant hose Part # XW4Z-8A520-CC. You have to get it at the dealer.

so wait, are you saying that your car will not get up to the proper running temperature when you say over cooling? (the gauge wont get up to the center)

Yep. Turns out the mechanic cut out the thermostat. But I suppose I can let it slide for the summer.

so now im really confused...

is there a thermostat, is there no thermostat?

But I suppose I can let it slide for the summer.

I personally wouldn't. engines are designed to run their most efficiently at certain temperature ranges. if you're just going to do this later (as in after summer) then why wait, just get it done (still not sure if it was even done or not...)
