another gas question

Anything is possible. I bought it off my father in law. He owns a car lot and I go to auctions with him frequently. I know it wasn't there when he bought it is a new car trade in. Only one owner. Glad I joined this group. Learning a lot just by skimming through the feed. Come spring time or if I get my new place with a garage this month I'll be posting pics on my interior project. And new window tinting.

On top of the Premium Shell V Power fuel, (unless in winter storage)
at the very least, once a month, I throw a bottle of STP Injector cleaner in it.

* also, get in the habit of changing the fuel filter at least once a year.

I use regular unleaded and I have no issues. of course I only use the name brand gas, sunoco, speedway, or bp. But I use injection cleaner additives at least once a month or more. It's an extra 3 dollars but I have no issues with performance.

Wife has been using 89 for 95k miles, no issues, V6. I will fill with 93 once in awhile. Use Seafoam about every 90 days.

Since moving from NYC to B.F. Nebraska the highest octane within an hours drive is 89. I have had some cyl 1 misfire issues which may be octane related. I drive a turbo Buick that sees up to 30psi of boost on track so I'm very sensitive to monitoring knock!
If no station around you has 91+ there's amazing octane boosters out there called Torco or Klotz that add real octane points, not fractions of points like most of them.
I plan to add a gallon a tank of 100 unleaded of the race fuel for the Buick once my 55 gal drum gets here.

I don't mean to sound like a jerk but we've been over this ad nauseam..... This should on the inside fuel door....

Locking fuel cap....is that a Ford accessory? Looks OEM. I guess it is extra security as the metal door could easily be pried open. I know when gas was nearly $6 a gallen, there was a rash of fuel theft and California was hit big. MOST LS's have 91+ octane so that is a preferred fuel to steal.

That's just a generic picture I found. I was too lazy to photograph mine.

If you have Marathon brand gas in your area,it is probably the best. They have avoided using ethanol as much as possible.Their quality control is good and they use STP brand additives for cleaner combustion.
I avoid ethanol as much as I can.It will generally cost you in gas mileage. don-ohio (:^)
