What does the profile on that look like? As in, how far does it stick out from the door? Also, does it function just like the regular Ford keypads... press the last two buttons to lock the car, hit the 5/6 button after your code to pop the trunk, and can you change it to a custom code of your choice?
It sticks out exactly 1/2". Because its painted to match its not as noticable. It functions the same as any keypad and it can be set to any code you want when you get it programmed. I blocked out the stock code in the pic.

Hows the install. I wanted one of these to put under the mirror so people couldnt see it. How much is the programming. Basically what are all the costs that go into getting it to work

I installed one on my 01 Sport. Unlike other Fords, you'll need to take it, with the keyfobs to the dealer. Most other Fords you can self program. The LS doesn't use the easy method. It cost me about $40.
The unit works just like the factory setup. I've had the factory setup on other cars and love the functionality. BTW, this is a great deal. These list for around $140. I think I paid around $110 using a friends discount at a local dealer.

Another great place is above the rear license plate upside down, there is a little ledge that it fits perfect. Someone has to want one of these, if not its going on ebay. I need the money desperately.....well....not really. I just have no use for it now. My '05 came with the stock keypad. But the cheapest i have seen these is $69 on ebay, but this is matches perfectly. The way they come the black color just doesnt look right and it sticks out alot, plus they fade after awhile. Mine has been painted and clearcoated. Come on....who wants it?

ok, so this is only for entry into the car. But does it disable when you put your key into the lock? Is this a secondary lock system?
