so i have just about rebuilt the front end of my LS and there is the infomous clunk or bang/rattle or what ever everone else calles it i have replaced the sawy bar bushings with the energy bushings, lower ball joints both inner and outter tie rods on both sides and new sway bar links and now this noise is back again brakes are all new anyone had a problem with the energy bushings 1 1/16 on a 2000 ls v8 sport

I'm no mechanic but I had the same problem. Rattled the sh*t outta the car when I would brake or driving over little bumps. Only on the front right side took it in to the dealership and they replaced the upper control arm. Everythings gravy now.

Had the same thing a few weeks ago, it drives you nuts. I read hundreds of post's. My inside caliper bolt backed out and was hitting the dust guard.

Pretty sure they bent you over on that one. Just sayin..

k i re-tightened the sway bar links they werent loose tried to shim the sway bar bushings and its the same $h!t its driving me nuts .....like a strut is either good or bad right ....ive tried jumping in the door jam (bouncing the car) nothing... its definitally louder on the drivers side when your driving its happening when there are a series of bumps it almost sounds like the ball joint before i replaced it but everything is new.....im not going to take it to ford and have them throw parts at it but any advice would help... thanks

sorry my mistake you guys are right the red bushing has 1 3/16 stamped right in the red i just got in from checking that......going to recheck everything including the p/s rack since that was replaced maybe a loose bolt or something

after I replaced my sway bar bushings with the energy suspension bushings, i would get a TERRIBLE "knock" from under the front of the car when making pretty aggressive turns. Turns out I hadn't snugged down the bolts for the new poly bushings tight enough. They REALLY need to be torqued down a fair amount.
