Yet another bag vs spring question, but It's a little more specific, so I figure I'd still throw up a post.

I've got a 98 LSC, and recently the rear end completely deflates. I don't get why...it'll hold pressure for a week, then randomly it'll deflate one night, then work fine again for days.

Anyhow, I just picked up a 97 LSC for a parts car that has a spring conversion already done. I rode in it, and it's certainly a much more aggressive ride. I can handle this, but he mentioned something interesting...he says it's using tbird struts that are supposed to be adjustable.

Does anyone know what he's talking about (cause he doesn't)...are tbird struts adjustable?? I'm considering just converting the car over, but I want to have some adjustability in firmness.

Armed with the info that I have given (my air ride system is 100% functional except for the random leak, and no air ride alarms)...would you guys just convert over to springs since I have them, or make an attempt at repairing/finding the rear leak??

My front end has to come apart anyhow for an a arm rebuild, so the swap if I have to do it won't be too much extra labor

there are some struts that are made for the tbird that are adjustable. koni, kyb and tokico make some

The 1989-1995 Thunderbird Supercoupe had electronic adjustable coil-over shocks up front and electronically adjustable shocks in the rear. These can be adapted to work on the Mark VIII with some clever wiring. I put '88 T-Bird Turbo Coupe adjustable shocks and struts on a 1987 Mustang with a toggle switch to adjust from soft to firm, so I'm pretty sure SC coil-overs will work on a Mark.

i would just replace the rear bags. thats probably the leak.
but i'm stubborn and won't give up the air ride for nothing. i got something not many cars have, and i want to keep it that way.
