I have 05 Lincoln LS i just purchased from a dealer...the morning after i purchased the car a squeeking sound was coming from the belt, but when the car is warmed up it goes away...the car is stil under warrenty for 30 days should i take it back or would a belt dressing take care of this issue, also how common is the this problem???

My '03 did the same thing, was under warranty and had the belt and pulley replaced. No more squeaking.

Do not use belt dressing.

Lincoln LS has a factory warranty of 4 years/50K miles.

How expensive is this is issue??? The dealership i bought it from is 200 miles away from home...so is it worth the drive???

if you make the best of the local attractions while you're there, then it's well worth it! Did you buy it in the Twin Cities? Lot's going on this weekend! AMA Supercross. The Car Show. etc

Even without that, it's worth the trip. Since you just got the car and there's only a 30 day warranty on it, it might be good to get her out on the open road and see if any other troubles surface.

For the record. My '04 had a slight squeak to it until it warmed up starting around December or early January. Here I sit about 2 months later and I'm emabarrased at how constant and noisy it is. The other day I was driving home at 50 MPH and I could hear it over KFAN. Needless to say I turned it to a rock station and increased the volume level. That magically got rid of the center console rattle, too!

Funny I bought this car in Woodbury...Executive Auto, I'm going to have it inspected today to pinpoint the problem and call the dealer!!! Thanks for the info.
