Its minor but rather annoying after awhile. Whever i start the car, the a/c goes to a default setting or something. Is that normal? Its so damn hot out right now that i use every bit of cooling i can get and the recirc. button always goes back to "off". Every startup its the same procedure, turn the air to 60 degrees, push the recirc. button, turn the fan up all the way, turn on the cooled seats on. I didnt have to do that in my 2002 LS, whatever i had it at when i turned the car off it was the same way when i turned it back on. Also is it me or is the a/c louder than sh!t in the '03+? If i have it at full blast it drowns out the radio. Not to mention the handsfree phone setup, every call i have to turn the air down to like 2 "bars" so they can hear me. That shouldnt be.

Under the circumstances you've described, if you have the HVAC in Auto mode, it should start blowing full blast cold within a few seconds of starting, and it should still be at whatever setting it was holding when the ignition was turned off.

The recirc button is always reset on restart. The seat heating and cooling systems reset every time the ignition is turned off unless you put them in auto mode, where they're tied into the HVAC system. In auto mode, they come on with the HVAC system, heating or cooling as determined by the HVAC system.

BTW, that's all in the manual....

Your HVAC system should retain the temperature and fan speed settings through a restart if it's not in Auto mode; in Auto it should only retain the temperature setting (since the fan is on auto). If the temperature setting isn't being retained across restarts, you need to have your car serviced, 'cause something's broken.

And yeah, the HVAC is plenty loud at full tilt.

It sounds to me like the climate control is losing power when the ignition is shut off. There is more than one fuse for the system....check ALL your fuses. Check them with a volt meter or test light...don't just look at them. I'll bet you find a blown fuse. If not, you need to take it in and find out why it's rebooting every time.

Mine does it too, so I don't there is anything "wrong" with the a/c system. A pain in the ass, yes, but not a real problem

If it's not holding the temperature setting or the fan speed across restarts, then yes, there's something wrong with the HVAC. An '05 should still be under warranty, so make the dealer fix it.
