Does anyone have the angel eyes when LSKoncepts first came out with them. I have them on my LS and the ballasts blew out. I can easily change them but here is my question, has anyone switched from the older weaker rings to the newer brighter rings. Is it worth spending the $$ for the newer. The older model has a bluish tint to them and from others pics I see the newer being a truer white glow and brighter. Of course I'm assuming they are the newer rings as the LS's are newer. Advice welcomed.

these are not LSK's but similar technology.

The top is the newer style LED rings
The bottoms are the CCFLs

big difference with CCFLs being much brighter, more durable (i went through several LED rings) and more OEM looking.

the picture do not show the contrast in brightnbess as much - since the LED shot is in the garage with the lights on. The CCFLs are bright enough to be visible during the bright Texas days.

Do you have the LED version or the CCFL's? I sold the LED versions a long, long time ago and stopped since they did not last long.

Was the reason they didnt last because of the converter box?

LED's didn't use a converter box. The LED's were just junk and didn't last long I guess due to heat, electrical issues and other parameters. The CCFL type of angel eyes are the way to go.

I have the LED lights, I guess I was one of the few that did not have them go bad until now. The glow was never really strong, I always thought they were weak.

Well, then you definitely need to upgrade to the CCFL's. I'm amazed those lasted that long.

Im not even sure what mine are. I know they arent the new ones, because you helped me find the guy who sold the boxes to me. Are they different than the LED and the CCFL lights? Ill put a picture of my rings when i find my camera.

A local guy had them on his LS, and sold them to me, they were in great condition, but they kept blowing my fuses and I had to get new wiring and junk.

Jeff... I think you have the type that has the light box and the fiber optic cables that run to the light rings. The box had a certain watt bulb and lit the fiber optic cables, that lit up the rings. I'm not sure if these were pre or post LEDs, but they were supposed to be brighter than LED's. Not sure how they compare to the CCFL's.

Yes, thats exactly what I have. Thet have held up a really long time, so I may need to upgrade to the CCFL rings. The guy said he bought them from LSK a couple years ago.

i believe he stopped selling it as a complete unit now he only sells the rings for a do it yourself application

speaking of....hey ken do u still sell the whole kit ( headlight )with the CCFL's?
I don't sell the complete headlight assemblies with the angel eyes in them. I only sell the DIY kits. The reason is that getting good used headlights were becoming harder to find.

hummm so can the angel eyes that you offer ken be installed with headlights that have the black sealent? if not where can i obtain some headlamps to work on?

You can find used headlights on eBay. Just ask the seller if they have the grey sealant. I have noticed that some have started including it in the description.

Is this the connector that I'm going to need to tap into when I install my angel eyes?.. Well not the actual connector, but the OG/BU(#1) and the BK/WH(#3) wire?

To tap into the parking lights you will need to tap the positive (+) to the OG/BU wire and the negative (-) to the BK/BU. The BK/WH is the turn signal wire. You don't want your angel eyes blinking when you turn do you? :D

whats the difference between the grey and the black? why wont the black work? i have an 06...which do i have? im not even sure.

the black sealant is very very strong and was part of the redesign to correct a headlight fogging issue. You cannot 'bake' the black seal apart. All 03+ use black - as well as some late 02 and any headlight that was fixed by Ford.

the only option is to cut the lens apart and glue it back together when you are done.

Yup! :iconcur:

well im definitely not cutting the lense apart. i guess i could find some older lenes w/ the grey but if they are prone to fogging and leaking it seems like that would take away from the sweetness of the angel eyes =)

do the angel eyes wire in so that they automatically turn on w/ the parking lights or do you have to wire a separate switch for them?
