Lincoln. Vs. Cadillac. Literally..caddy with a SLIGHT advantage lol.

My friend from work parked next to me today, so had to get a shot. Not everyday you see a Mark VIII or a CTS-V, let alone next to one another.

Oh I agree, it beats the lincoln in every measurable sense, and would love the caddy in my driveway but theres something about the VIII...sounds retarted I know...cant explain it.

I agree. That particular V looks like glorified rice, no matter how quick it is. It isn't always about how fast the car goes. It's about that feel when you get behind the wheel of it. I bet when you're in that Caddy you don't feel like you're in the cockpit of a fighter jet ready to strike....LOL Both are really nice cars though, cool pic.

The CTS-V outhandles and outperforms in every sense. But no chit right. It has 556 hp and the suspension is grands on those cars LOL

I'd rather have my lincoln too
I can make my mark fast but I can't make the caddie a mark viii.
Also nice picture

Both are great cars in their own way. Not sure if I would own the Caddy if I had the money as I like to drive my cars everyday and here in Toronto there is no place to have a bit of fun without dealing with the popo. The Mark slips under the radar so to speak. Fast enough off the start to have some fun but still looked on as an old mans car..LOL!!!

Don't forget there is a 15 year difference between the two..back in 95 the mark was far superior to anything Cadillac offered..however Lincoln sucks now and conforms with the times and only produces SUVs and front wheel drive sh*t sedans..maybe if they had any balls they would build another coupe with the new 5.0 or a detuned blown 5.4..kind of like what Cadillac did with the cts-v and the ZR1 motor..but let be realistic ford is in no shape to do so.

His cts-v is a beast though, with only a pully and full exhaust its making over 600 at the wheels..and its his daily driver even in the snow...hes always owned ls powered cars too..his last combo was a cammed with full exhaust 07 ZO6 for a toy and a trailblazer ss daily driver and before that had a different ss tb and a procharged 01 t/a firehawk..makes me wish I had that kind of money lol

Cool cars but I sill love my mark viii..if I could I'd have the best of both worlds and swap an LSX into it..

i'll take the caddy for perforance, but the viii for lasting good looks.

19 years later and the style is still nice, in 19 years from the first cts-v it will look dated and awkward in my "guesstimation". time will tell.

i dont care for the "trapped in a box" feel when in the caddywith the short roofline / tiny windows

nice pic either way

caddy

im looking at the dollar value - you could have many marks for the price of that caddy,,,,
If i could afford the caddy { nice as it is } i would have a cobra kit car in the garage and still drive my mark to work - and change

I will stick with my mark viii daily driver. And my shelby for the fun factor!

Well sure if you compare dollar amount you could have 8 1st gen marks at least for the cost of a new cts-v..but that's not the point..when looking at new car value compared to others the cts-v is a pretty bad ass car, perfect balance of luxury and performance. And yes with the amount you spend on a new cts-v you could build one hell of a mark viii..although in the end its still an outdated 14 year old car at the least...but hey that's obviously not something that we here are worried about, otherwise we wouldn't own one (or several) lol. Still love my mark!

hey kev, you gonna tint your windows or leave them clear? i think tints would look clean on yours

Yeah I want to get them tinted before summer hits..here in IL the legal limit is 35% on the front side windows so I was thinking of doing 35% on the side and 1/4 glass and a little darker for the back window...Im sill trying to plan out a time to bring my car into the body shop to get the new lsc bumpers and trim painted..theyre all sanded and ready..just gotta find time in between my crazy ass work schedule to do it.

Good point Kevin. We know the CTS-V is more than $40K. With that said, if I invested $40k into a Mark VIII, it would be faster than a CTS-V. Mike S spent probably half that and has a mid-11 Mark. Now he wants to spend a little bit more and add meth injection. Hello 10s :)

fixed that for you...

What?? You can't be serious, did he buy his mark viii new? Who is Mike S. anyway, I don't know peoples names on here just their usernames and what they drive lol, I only know of a handful of marks on here in the 11s and one in the 10s that being burbanklsc's black 98.

40 grand is a SH*TLOAD of money to spend on a car and have it only run in the 11s..give me that much money and I could find a shop and pay them to do a engine/trans/rear end swap for that much and it would be quicker than that..and that's including the labor involved with fabricating everything..
