I got mine off ebay. I was in a jam economically, as is typical of a college kid so i took the risk and went with my cheapest option. I wasn't going to pay $1900 for a rebuild. I had it put in locally by my trusted mechanic.
If you go used do not try to use the transgo kit until you've tested the tranny and know its good. If you go new, i'd say go for it. Its cheap enough, at only $70ish from ebay. And from what i hear its simple enough to install if you know what you're doing, especially if the tranny is already off.
Matter of fact i'm selling a kit for $50 shipped. Never used it when my new to me tranny went in. Let me know if you're interested once you decide what to do.
