I think it is time for a new alternator on the LS. I have a 2000 V8 sport. The battery light keeps coming on so I had the battery checked, and it is fine. My question is how hard is it to change the alternator? (The egine bay is so cramped!) Is a 110 amp ok if it is refurbished? I have seen alot of refurbished ones on sale online for under $100 with warranties. Also alot on ebay that are used but have lifetime warranties. Thanks

I had mine changed not to long ago, It is very cramped!!!
I had a ASE certified mech install mine (2hr) and when he was done the air bag light comes on..... so be careful, not sure if the install had anything to do with it or not.
I had him install an upgraded amp due to the media system... better to have more juice.

it is fairly easy to get to - three bolts. The hardest part is figuring out how to turn it to slide it out - you have to twist it just right to fall out between the suspension. If you get it wrong you'll try to force it all day long....
