Hey guys, Alternator went out and this will be the 1st time I will have had to do real work on my LS8, so if one of yall don't mind giving me a quick step by step, or point me in the right direction on where to find such info I'd really appreciate it. I did do a search and didn't find quite what I was looking for.

I'm sorry. I didn't read the post due to your avatar :D

That's the calmer of the 2, they made me take my original avatar off when I 1st started posting here.

This would make a good sticky if someone has pic's & instructions. All I know is that when I had mine replaced, the mechanic said that it was much easier to replace it from under the car. This is the first car I've had where the alternator, belt, pcv valve (only on V6's) and all the coils aren't easily assessable. They turn a simple job into major labor.

I could have sworn I saw a writeup for this in the tech section. But i just looked and there's nothing. I know other people here have done it and posted about it. Search "alternator" and read through some of the old threads, you're bound to find something.
