No matter what they are batteries are made like garbage this day and age. I personally wont ever buy another motorcraft, they only lasted a year in my 2016 MKZ, after 2nd was purchased they refuse to honor warranty bc i cant find paper copy of receipt tho its in the computer, ive raised hell over this, but then i learned a trick. Lincoln offers roadside for life for original buyer (they tell you the name of purchaser, so just respond to that name when spoken to lol), just accessing it thru the app for your vehicle gets you jumps, tows, gas, etc for free. so i had them pay a towtruck to jump me off $175 about 10 times in spite for not honoring my battery, i bought one from walmart recently, but still use the free service if need arises. Thanks for the heads-up on that. Will check the tensioner pulley once I get all the stuff out of the way to get to the belt. Was reading up a bit on alternator failures and there is some anecdotal evidence that using an AGM Battery might extend alternator life because the voltage levels in an AGM are more stable over life compared to non-AGM batteries.
Bought an autozone battery 4 weeks ago for my Lexus and its already bad, tested weak. Ive lost faith in batteries, my next will be a lithium car battery i have a relative who swears by them.
As far as alternator OEM cant be beat on these cars, motorcraft still makes good generators. Dont buy autozone youll be pissed taking a brand new out the same day its installed bc it dont work, i did that twice, put motorcraft in and lasted the life of car.
