sorry no pic, ill add one tomorrow. so i had my hood open sunday and was just checking stuff out. I look at the headlights and i find something surprising. The little black clips that connect the wire from the angel eye and the black box was melted. I could not tell which one it was, high or low beam, but it was like that on both sides. I imagine it was the same one on both sides. All the angels still work but it almost looked liked it caught fire, wires were black right by the connectors. Ill show you a pic tomorrow.

I had the same exact thing happen to me. I unplugged the melted connectors and taped them off. I have a new ballast and am waiting to install it. I am not sure of why they melted. I discovered mine after driving for a hour and a half through rain and flooding (due to melting snow).

You need to put the inverters in more of a vented spot and try your best to not always have them on. Thats why it happens.

I have a high beam halo that went out, well only half of it did. Then the other nite I notice that is back on all the way. So i plug in the other side and then the 1st one is out again. So i don't know whats up up with it. I think that I wil have to replace it.

I have my inverters exactly where the DIY guide in LSKoncepts has it...I really don't do all that much driving, so I'm curious why only one side went out?

I dont know. Maybe your case is different but that's how it happens. Those things get really hot, it makes sense.

they are in a pretty open area and i hard wired them to my signals so they are on when the headlights come on. i guess im just going to cut those clips off and solder them together.

Thats how you should do it however some people still drive with the lights on so they can have the CCFL's on.

If I don't get the LED's I said I wouldn't get:shifty: :D Im rigging mine up to a switch so I can give the inverters a break once in a while.

Daytime running Angel Eyes....but can't have them on long or they melt.......wow.......just wow......

Sounds like too much voltage through too small of a wire. Are there relays in used with the halos? If not, sounds like there should be some installed.

yeah no relays were installed, the wire to me looks like to be around 18gauge or close. its pretty damn thing.

My inverters are mounted on the back of the headlights, using the same screws that hold the high beam cover. the tabs on the inverters lined up perfect. They donn't get hot, maybe a little warm, but not hot.
