alignment

So I take my LS to the dealer this morning with a coupon for a $35 2 wheel alignment that they sent me. My LS is out of alignment and wearing my front tires uneven.

Long story short, they called me a little while ago and told me that they can't do an alignment on my car because of the tires and wheels I have on the car. Is this not the biggest crock of sh!t you've ever heard. The wheels are 17x7.5 w/42mm offset, tires are 245/45/17.

How hard would it be to buy one of those $53 alignment tools from JCwhitney and do it myself? Where would I get the proper measurments to make it right?

I got one of those coupons from my dealer today. I was thinking about sending it in cause I just put my new wheels on. I hope they don't give me BS but as far as the question with the toll, I hear its a hard task at hand. I may be wrong but I was thinking about doing the same thing when I got my wheels but I was persuade not to. On the other, I couldn't see it being all that hard but that is just what I have been told.
