Airbag light STILL

Pesky airbag problem still around. I relaced the clock spring and got rid of code 3-2. Then I got a code 3-6...replaced the connector under drivers seat. Still getting code 3-6. The underseat connector is not the problem I have rechecked the pins and insulation.

My question is does anyone know what this means: B1994 Dr Side MNT ABG open circuit.

have no Idea but My air bag light came on the other day and just wondering what all you went threw to figure your problem out?
 
You can have the code read but I think the most common problem is the harness in the seat. If you ever use your lumbar it may cause a problem and possibly disconect it or cause it to frey. The wires go across the front from what I have read so the inflating is what seems to be the problem.

The light comes on when I shift in the seat a certian way, or after my wife drives it. I was thinking that it might be something like that also.
 
It sounds like it may be starting to Frey. In that case you might need a new harness but I'm not sure, but I am sure someone else will chime on in.

I don't remember exactly how it goes but the times it flashes is like a code. Count the flashes and then it will stop and flash a few more times.

I'm not sure if this is right but for example you will see a flash of 6 times and then pause followed with a flash 3 times then it will go out for a bit and repeat. I may be backwords or I may even have the wrong code but you should get the hint.
 
I have removed the driver's seat and started disasembly. I will test the harness in the seat to see if it is the culprit. I found out that the code is
"Driver Side Air Bag Circuit High Resistance"
 
I metered the harness in the seat PASS. I then metered the circuit from the seat connector to the RCM PASS. It looks like the wiring is OK. Bad airbag module maybe?
 
It would have gave a different code.

I dont know exactly what and I may just be wrong but i realy think its in the seat.

Just make sure the connectors are allright, like they arent wiggling lose. You may have had them in place for that moment and they tested ok.


They tore up my clock spring and it was ok, they tested my seats and it was ok but it was still something with the conection comeing lose. Thats what I had dealt with in my case at least.

I replaced it already. It was giving me a code 3-2.
I wiggled everything around when I was testing the harness and the resistance stayed good. Oh well I guess its time to put the car back togeather.
 
i get the 3-2 code now, my question is, will it affect my airbags if i get in an accident?

the light doesnt bother me too much, i will fix it eventually, unless it is saying my airbags will be affected if i dont fix it, then an immediate fix will be scheduled......
 
When there is any hard fault that throws the light on THE AIRBAG SYSTEM IS DISABLED. That is why I want to fix it so bad.

Anyways after poking, prodding, unwraping wire harnesses, metering, cussing etc I found no problems with the harness or connectors. When I put everything back together the light was out! I must have fixed it by accident...I hope it doesnt come back.
 
In that case,... Thats great to hear! I bet it was just a lose pigtail and thats it. Thats all mine was.
