Greetings everyone,

I need to replace my airbag SRS light bulb in my 2001 Lincoln LS cluster.
I cannot find anywhere in these forums the type and part number for this bulb . I would like to get the bulb ahead of time so i can install it when i take it apart. Can i purchase this bulb anywhere and what should i ask for?

Can anyone help me?

Thank you

That's the one and only bulb I would NOT be replacing.
So many others are trying to make that light go out! (clockspring replacement)

Bulb Part number for airbag light

Well when the bulb is burnt out, or missing you have to put up with the annoying 5 consecutive warning chimes. This is why i want to put a new bulb in to stop the warning chime telling you the bulb is not working.

Does anyone know what the bulb is i need?

I can't imagine it's just the simple cluster bulb 161 or 194, those look too big.

It may very well be the T3.25 MINIATURE or for that matter it could be a Surface Mounted bulb on the board. (I've never had the cluster out or even apart)

Mind you, the 161, does say it's used,
for trunk or cargo area, ash tray, auto transmission indicator, brake warning, check engine, clock, directional signal indicator, dome, glove box, hi-beam indicator, ignition switch, general instrument, license plate, map, radio dial, seat belt warning, front and rear side marker, and step or courtesy applications.

Those highlighted in bold are within the Instrument cluster and appear to be the same size of an indicator.

Why not get the cluster out and open it up and have a look.

~ Someone here has the LS electrical manuals.

The instrument cluster uses various inputs to determine when to sound the warning chime.

The warning chime sounds:

if the headlamps are left on with the ignition switch in the OFF position and the driver door is ajar.
if the key is in the ignition in the OFF position and the driver door is ajar.
if a door/decklid is ajar while the ignition switch is in the RUN position.
if the safety belts are not fastened and the ignition switch is in the RUN position.
if the parking brake is engaged and the vehicle is in motion.
if the turn signal is left on for more than 0.8 km (0.5 mile).
if the air bag warning indicator is inoperative when there are diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) present.
if the engine has reached an over-temperature condition.

Air bag readiness

Momentarily illuminates when the ignition is turned to the RUN position.
If the light fails to illuminate, continues to flash or remains on, have the system serviced immediately.

BTW, while you have the Cluster open, --> http://www.whitegauges.net/categories/Lincoln/LS/ <-- Many color choices!
