I tried searching but there are like 20 something pages of results and I don't have the time to search through all of them.

A while back my compressor stopped working but my bags stayed inflated. it stayed like that for weeks till finally my front bags just took a crap and now my front is slammed. the backs still are holding the air. now I jummped the compressor and just hooked it up to the batt and the comp runs... so what should I troubleshot next?

What would make the suspension not turn on the compressor(besides the obvious fuses and loose harness)? Thanks

Did you test the Compressor relay? I hear you can swap it out with the ABS relay to see if the compressor relay is bad.

Where is the compressor relay? I have the ford book and it lists the 5 relays in the engine compartment fuse box and there is no relay for the suspension.. there are fuses but no relays

Definitley sounds like the relay, mine did the same thing... It is right near the compressor afixed to the tray with a bundle of wires running to it.

so its a different type of relay than the ones in the fuse box?

and where is the abs relay? on the inside of the other fender well?

If its a 96 and you dont want to worry about loosing ABS to get the suspension working you can also steal the AIR system relay. YOu have to take out the wheel well liner on the driver's side to get to it.

By the way, the easiest way to get to the ABS relay is just to remove the side-marker (again, if your a GenI one). One external screw, one internal nut behind the headlamp.

So I went to a junkyard and picked up 2 different relays from a gen 2 and none of them worked... so I don't think its the relay..

What else could it be? the suspension module behind the glove box?

now that the cold weather is upon you up in NY. the cold weather can very well affect the o-rings on the solenoid. i would look to see if you can replace them out. if that does not fix it. then i would think that the compressor is not pumping out enough air to fill the bags. just get another compressor to see if that helps. good luck

I FIXED THE PROBLEM!!!!!! just ordered a coilover kit. I have no time to mess around with troubleshooting every part of the suspension... and I really have no money for the suspension(credit is great right? lol yea more debt) but it beats destroying my car.

bet it was the compressor , my wife car the compressor just stopped running then after a few months it would come on once the car was low , but still did come on like it should . replaced compressor and now fixed.

Maybe.. but I put power to the compressor and it turned on.. I have no time to swap it out and have a chance that its not it and have wasted that $ and time and still need to troubleshoot what else it could be. now I have no more hassle, just gotta install the coilovers when they arrive

yeah i do not blame ya. i have problems with the air suspension couple months ago. i did the samething, i converted the mark to springs. as much as i love the air ride, coils ride just the same as the bags. congrats.

I'm sorry to hear you went to coils....

I have not yet experienced coilovers but from what I had read and from my friend who just put them on his car there is no difference really in how it rides... and in all honisty if you modded your mark even the slightest you've killed the "luxury, or heritage" of the car and yes that goes with the air ride.. I've heard arguements about the air ride but come on.. its flawed, expensive.. and when it goes it makes your car pretty undriveable... unless you live in a part of the coutry where the roads are always perfectly paved and flat...

so spend about 400 bucks on coil overs and a few hours install.... or spending weeks and who knows how much $$ troubleshooting my car while still driving it and probally ripping off my 2 thousand dollar exhaust or damaging a hell of a lot more?? hmmm thats a toss up

you are 100% right. $400 for the whole set of front and rear springs you really can not beat it. i even got props from the dealer when they saw my coilovers, the guy is like "where the frick did you get those"? i said "do not worry about it, you asking too many questions as it is just flush the god damn tranny fluid"! hahaa. even the mechanic is like $400 buck for the whole set, 1 front strut from ford is $300+ and that is without the install.

you did the right thing believe me, no arguements here bro.
