It's been quite a while since I posted a thread, I guess I haven't had any problems with the Mark except the air ride pump. So here goes, I bought a new pump from Arnott to replace the factory one which was getting very loud. The new pump is just a bit quieter than the old one I replaced, has anyone bought a new pump from arnott or a factory rebuild and how loud is it.
I'm comparing this to a new factory pump that I put in a 94 Mark VIII, it was whisper quiet, it also cost $900.00. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks Phat Ride

I bought one from arnott. Are you sure you hooked up the so called "Muffler tube"? It goes from the compressor into a little black box.

I too bought one from Arnott.. Just put it on last week I thought it was quieter. I did hook up the black box, Is that what it is a sound deadner :-)) I don't think it is whisper quiet, but I'm happy with it. I don't think the average person would hear it,But I think most of the noise was the rubber isolatres all four were shot.

Thanks for the info everybody. Yea I hooked-up the silencer and I even called Arnott, they told me I didn't have to hook it up but I did any way.
Thanks Phat.

my air ride system in my mark 8 went out on a few different occasions. Every time it cost about 1000 dollars. I replaced the air ride with front conversion strut kit and the rear spring conversion kit. You can go to www.stutmasters.com and get these kits for a lot less than $8-$900. and its easy enough to do yourself.

Did you get 4 new insulators? If not then I would suspect those little guys as the cause.

Dayum dude....you could have driven here to Pittsburgh, had me fix your car....spent the night at a NICE hotel, payed me a minimal fee....and still would have saved close to $600 each time.
