Air ride and shifting problem 1997 Mark VIII

I have 2 problems with my lincoln.. for one the air ride wants to pump up too much and when i turn off the car the front slowly lowers but the back end stays up.. and its a bumpy ride.. i had one of the air bags replaced because it was bad and the compressor seems fine and no one can find any leaks so i am thinking its the relay? Also the transmission has trouble shifting.. i had this problem in an avenger before and it was the speed sensor..but i had the speed sensor changed out and its still doing the same thing and on the dash it will say check transmission... basically it acts like it doesnt want to shift but it will just slowly and it doesnt jerk or anything its just slow so i'm not sure i dont think the mechanic actuallly changed the speed sensor like he said he did and he kept trying to get me to rebuild the transmission which i think its not needed because the car only has 60,000 miles on it.. everything in it is like new except for these two problems... could anyone help? any suggestions on what to do?

check to make sure a front height sensor hasnt popped off... is there a check air ride message? maybe when he did the bag, he broke the air ride sensor. this the same mechanic that put in the speed sensor? run the codes first for the tranny. autozone does it for free or scanners are cheap.
