hey i'm in need of help i had an over heating problem b4 apparently my thermostat needed to be changed now that i changed it my car slightly passes the half way mark occasionally ... well today it was 90 degrees out so i turned my AC on for some reason it was just blowing hot air and i kept waiting and waiting for the cool air to blow it would ...as i waited i seen the car temperature gauge begins to climb ....it got all the way to the 3 quarter point so i turned the ac off but it remained and attempted to climb more ... i then turned the heat on to 90 and put it on full blast and then the temperature needle then went back to the half way mark ....

does any one know what that means why its over heating when the ac is on and not blowing cool air and why when i put the heat on it goes down

i am running a 2001 lincoln ls v6

Search. This set of symptoms has been covered a few thousand times now.
You probably have air in the cooling system.
You probably have cracked plastic cooling system parts, like the degas bottle.
You may have a hydraulic cooling fan problem.
You probably have a failed DCCV.
You may be low on R-134, possibly due to a leak at the AC compressor.

hey i just recently replaced the degas bottle
they said i had air in it the last time i was over heating ... was an air bubbled that they bleed out ...

ill look into the failed dccv i dont know what that means can you explain ...
same goes for the r134 ac leak ...

i am about to take it to ford ... which i hate but i have an extended warrenty i just want to know if my warrenty should cover those ...

DCCV = Dual Coolant Control Valve. It controls the AC outlet temperatures. If your AC is blowing heated air, not just un-cooled air, then the DCCV is probably the problem.

If your AC is just blowing un-cooled air, then you have a refrigerant system problem. The most common problem there is a leak in the system. The most common location for the leak is where the two halves of the AC compressor meet.
