I noticed my air cleaner outlet pipe has a drain hose connected to the bottom of it. I have a 2000 3.9L Sport.
Is that suppose to be there?

Anyone know what it is?
Wouldn't it be a vacuum leak, letting in un-metered air?

Hey,
Although I'm running the ASMi Air Intake on my 01 V8 Sport,

I dug out my old plastic tube and it does not appear to, nor ever, had such a connection.

It's a 'For Canadian Market' LS, not sure if that plays a factor.

It's not even a cap that can be removed, it's solid and in order to get something like what you have it would require to be drilled into.

You're missing a cowl pin on your cowl Rigs ...I want that ASMi air intake in my LS ...very nice

Thanks for your response RigsLS. The picture was helpful. I sealed off the hole using JB plastic weld and a piece of black ABS that I cut to size.

I, too, have the aluminum tube---although I got mine from Ken, long ago, when he was active here. My '02 doesn't have, and never did have the hose you reference.

What did you do to plug the other end of the hose connection and what did it go to?

It's almost like they tried to modify the air cleaner outlet pipe somehow hmmm interesting to say the least
