So A lot of people have been helping me out with my new mark as Ive been having some problems. Just want to say thanks before I go any further. My new mark has been losing air in the rear bags over night. When Id come out in the morning the rear end would be sitting on the ground almost. I figured it wasent a priority right now so I havent really put much thought into it. Well the other day I was dealing with the issue of it not starting, and I killed the battery trying to get it to crank. Well throw the batter on the charger, next morning I go out and the rear end hasent lost any air? Would would cause the bags to leak when the car was connected to a battery?

The bags get cracks in the folds. Sometimes when you park you park with that area of the fold exposed or as the air in the bags cool they lower a bit again exposing the cranks.

So overnight temps can influence it a bit. Either way, you have a leak and it may or may not show at all times depending on how bad the leak is. Also only one bag may leak but the other can not support the weight so it still lowers - best to replace both if you do.

Unlike the fronts where I can only suggest new OEM, the rears can be of a set of the cheapest you can find.

usually the front air shocks are the most problematic. I think that w/ the time your car has been sitting idle w/o moving, the rear bags might of lost air. after charging the battery, is the car still not turning over? if not, I would locate the crank sensor and just unplug it and plug it back in.

The car hasent moved. It loses air every night, and I turn the key on in the morning and it reinflates. the other night it didnt lose any at all, but there was no battery connected to the car. And where is the crank sensor loacted?

Strongly recommend you get a copy of the factory service manual, and not a Haynes either. They are available on the auction site in both print and CD form. They aren't that expensive! For your information the crank sensor is located at the front of the engine next to the crank.

Without the battery, the car might not have adjusted it's height to the same particular spot. Because the height was different, it might have meant the leak wasn't uncovered by a fold in the rubber.
