I drooped the car off at a dealership today for the air bag light issue figuring from what I read here it was a clock spring code 36.

They tell me its a pig tail under the seat. I have read about someone getting 2 codes before so is it possible that the clock spring in the steering column or what ever went first and the pig tail under the seat went later on? The thing with this is that I only got one code as opposed to someone else getting a code for both. I have also read from a unreliable source that the clock spring can mess with the cruise control but mine has worked fine.

What do you guys that had to deal with this think?

The first thing most people look at is the pigtail the dealer was referring to under the seat. With easy entry causing the seat to move more often than not it causes unnecessary wear. Then after that is checked out to be ok, they move on to the clockspring issue.

I had this same problem the other day, my airbag light was on and it was reading code 3-6. I did a search and read a few threads on here. so i figured id check my wiring under my seat first. I checked the wires out and everything looked fine so i just pushed them in further and wiggled the connector and it solved the problem. Airbag light no longer comes on. Sweeet! I love this site!! Very helpful.

I currently have the 3-2 problem. I checked the pigtail (will check again) and it seemed fine. The stealership claims it's the clock spring. I'm putting it off for now, but I hate that light. I would hate to replace the clockspring and it not be it.
