its really hard to find aftermarket engine parts and other parts for the lincoln ls, does anyone agree? i say we need to push for more aftermarket research for the vehicle we have come to love. i think we need for aftermarket parts such as intake manifolds, cams, etc.

The problem you are going to have is the demand for those products and the cost to manufacture them. I ran into this several times on items for the LS. Simply, there isn't enough demand to justify start up costs. The only way it could be done is if enough people pooled their money to invest in these items. There were only 210,000 LS's produced from 2000-2006. This is a very low number of cars to quantify dropping big money for such a small market.

I too am suprised by that figure Ken. I would have thought they would sell more than 30k a year.

I saw 5 on my lunch break today (other than mine).

and now the car is out of production
and most lincoln owners do not work on their own car
and most lincoln owners did not purchase/modify from performance perspective

There was some hope that the t-bird would bring more crowd but the low production run kept it from adding much.

There were less than 100,000 Taurus SHO's (6-cyl) made from '89-'95 and there are PLENTY of aftermarket parts available for them. Initially it was just from one or two vendors but now there are lots of places to get stuff from. Suspension, brakes, cams, intake mods, clutches, differentials, vortech kits, etc. are all available.

It would be nice to see more than just mostly aesthetic mods for the LS...

But, the SHO shares a lot of common items that the regular Taurus has. So, with the amount of Taurus' on the road it made since to make aftermarket parts for the regular Taurus and the SHO. I agree though it would be nice if we could get more performance items for the LS but I don't see it happening.

and SHO owners were performance people and willing to upgrade components and do a lot of work themselves (perfect for the aftermarket) - which is not the profile of the average Lincoln owner.
