Advance trac question

A guy I work with here has a '00 LS V8 sport and is having the advance trac message appearing on the display. I have searched in past threads, but no one has seemed to have this exact same problem. His car flashes the light also only when it is hot out, and when the light is on, the transmission shifts erratic. No codes will come up at all.

Does a wheel sensor or this "module" I have read about have anything to do with the tranny system? What should be done or checked out first? I have no idea on this.

Clean the ABS sensors on all 4 wheels first. They usually get full of crud and can't read the ABS wheel. It may not be what his problem is, but it's a quick and easy try.

it can cause weird trannie behavior - since the PCM determiines speed through the ABS sensor on the rear wheel - so reading rpm, gear, shaft speeds, - then all of a sudden a flux in vehicle speed throws everything for a loop.
