advance trac problems

I have a 2001 Lincoln ls v8 3.9L and there seems to be something wrong with the computer, because where it displays the miles till empty, its not there any more and the message says advancetrac ok and it doesnt go away, even if i try and press the reset button. what is wrong with my dash, it is very useful to know the miles till empty with a guzzler like this one. is there any way i can disconnect the computer and reconnect it without losing all of the vital infomation on the dash like mileage. I think it is the computer but not shure. I also have a sub woofer system hooked up to the battery which drains some juice and the headlights dim at night because of the bass, could this be the reason for the computer to crap out and if so can i get a new computer. or is there a different problem, i dont know
