So we fired up the AC today to get...luke warm air, not cold like it was last year when we bought it. Heat works great, I ran the HVAC diagnosis and it didn't come up with any errors, just cycled through some numbers and ended on the display with everything being lit up. I popped the hood to listen for some noise from the compressor...nothing.. I have not checked the freon levels..but will be doing that tomorrow when a buddy can lend me his gauge set. My first thought is the DCCV, which is what I am hoping, because its cheaper and easier than locating a leak, and fixing, and replacing freon if needed.

The more I drive this car, the more I like it, but I think the wife is wanting an escape or a edge...so it may be getting traded in soon if I dont get any bites on Craigslist..

It's low on or out of refrigerant, meaning you have a leak. (Alternately, your AC clutch, wiring, or DATC could be bad, but the odds are it's low/no refrigerant.)
It does not use Freon (R-12), it uses Suva (R-134a).
