AC question

Hey fellas. At the beginning of summer I turned on my ac and heard nothing but hissing and then warm air followed. I dropped it off at the mechanic he said I had no leaks and I was good to go. A month has passed along with a gross heat wave and yup my ac stopped working. Back to the hissing and warm air. If its 70-80 out I get cool air from my ac. Anything above that and the car does not cool down. Any suggestions before I try a different mechanic?

Yes, you need a different mechanic. You have a small leak somewhere. The hissing that you hear is not the leak. It's the sound that the expansion valve makes when the system is low on refrigerant.
