My AC will only blow hot or cold air with no blending.
I have to turn the temp down to 60 for cold air to come on and put it up to 90 for hot air to come out.
Isn't the system supposed to blend the air to the temperature selected?
The car doesn't throw an CEL but is there a sensor for the system that could have gone bad?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the responses.
After doing a search and reading the threads I bought another control panel on ebay.
Hopefully that will take care of it.
If not it's something I can live with since AC season is almost over here and I'll worry about it in the spring.

Maybe it's the blend door actuator I'm not sure .

I know for certain that there is no blend air door on the gen II LS. I suspect that there is none on the gen I. (For temperature control, not air direction)

I just repaired my 2005 LS, Thanks to forums like this one. The symptom was:
A/C blows Hot air in all modes. I Replaced the Heater Control Valve located at the radiator support. It was a fairly easy swap that took me about 20 min.
The part cost approximately $170 tax incl. from my local Ford dealer.

Prior to replacing the valve, I checked the DATC circuit fuse and tried to get the codes.
My car would blow hotter air as it got warmer. I blocked the hoses to the heater control valve, using vise grips and checked the A/C while the car was cold and noticed a big difference. At that point I narrowed it down to either my DATC or the Heater Control Valve. I went ahead and replaced the cheaper and easier part to replace.

So I bought a DCCV from Rock Auto for 120.00 shipped.
I swapped it in and refilled the coolant which was actually down by a gallon.
Must have been down since I bought the car as I had noticed some gurgling noises coming from the dash.
Anyways, everything is working fine but I wonder if just adding the extra coolant would have fixed it.
