Im trying to get this LS back to the house. I noticed it didnt have an ac compressor on it and it needs a new belt. The previous owner ran it without the ac compressor so Im thinking they may have put a smaller belt on because the belt from the store doesnt fit. The old belt is completely shredded. Ive cleared all of the shreds out. Now Im trying to figure out what is a good substitue belt I can use so I can get it to the house.

No help on the shorter belt. Anyone know where I can get a fitting ac compressor bypass pulley for a 2000 lincoln ls v8 so I can put the OEM belt on?

It's been mentioned that a 100" belt is the right length for removing the fan pump.
Best bet is to make good friends with a parts store guy and get a selection of belts in that neighborhood. The "wrap a string around and measure" method also works well. If you do that, round down a few inches for the tensioner.
I doubt you'll find a idler to go in that place...
