My AC (according to my local Lincoln dealer) is leaking pag oil. He said it isnt too bad but eventually it wont work. I have 2 questions.

Do I have to replace the entire compressor or can it be fixed?

and

When I have the AC on it blows way cooler (even though its been getting less and less cool by the day) on the driver side than the vents on the passenger side. Will replacing the compressor or fixing this problem with the pag oil make this annoying issue go away as well??

PLEASE HELP Im in FLORIDA and its been 90+ the last few days:mad:

My understanding is that it is best to replace the compressor. It would cost about as much to rebuild it and replace the seals as to put in a new non-worn compressor.
Your issue with the uneven air is probably a DCCV problem, unless it is barely cooling at all. Normally, when the oil starts leaking, it doesn't reduce the cooling because the R-134 doesn't start leaking until most of the oil is gone. This is only true if your compressor is leaking from the typical place, which is the center seal (between the two compressor halves) near the bottom.
You want to replace the compressor ASAP. Once the oil leaks out, the compressor will start throwing little bits of metal into the whole refrigerant system. When that happens, you will have to replace a lot more than the compressor.
BTW, it's been 90 here in Mississippi too, it seems like it was 60 just a few days ago.

depending weather you have a 6 or an 8 a new ford compressor list price is $533.00 for the 6 and 744.00 for the 8.
LVC members pay less of course
