I did my searching and figured out how to pull the ABS trouble code I'm currently experiencing on my '94 Mark VIII. I came up with Code 29, which I found on here to mean "LH Rear Outlet Valve".

But, can I have some help understanding what that is? What am I supposed to look at or replace?

the valve body then? or the wiring.
its bolted to the abs pump. and on my 93 is in the left (driver side) front fender well. just under the battery.
its really just a big chunk of metal with some lines bolted to it.

now for an idea of what it looks like and the location.

here you can see the pump and valve body.

battery and battery tray removed.

directly beneath the battery where the abs pump sets.

and how far apart my car was to get to all this junk...

So the problem is likely on the valve body unit and not on the sensors or anything to do with the wheel?

i would say so. other wise i would expect a sensor code like a 31-44 or a 55-58. a 29 is clearly labeled as a valve, not a sensor. and there aren't any valve out at the wheels.

So then it's either the wiring on the unit or the unit itself. If it's the unit itself, I would assume it just needs to be replaced? What exactly would I be looking to replace on this error code?

I'm sorry to keep asking basically the same question over and over, but I have had a hard time finding any published information having to do with valve ABS problems for the Mark VIII. I don't know anything about what could be wrong or what needs to be replaced if need be. It's the first car I've ever owned with ABS at all.

i believe so. if any water got into the valve body or brake lines, i can see it getting rust in small passages and moving parts.

i would also assume that. but i have never tried to take one apart.
the valve body is one unit that bolts to the pump. somebody on here probably has a used one.

i'm also sure someone on here has more info on this problem than i do.

Well no one stepped forward with any knowledge, too bad. Maybe I'll catch someone this time? Am I right in understanding this "valve body" where Code 29 is coming from is also referred to as the "ABS Hydraulic Unit"? Or is that something else. I'm having a heck of a time finding anything about this silly ABS system.
